Yellow Folder: Please check this folder each night, empty it, and have your child bring this folder to school everyday!  


Winter Gear: Please dress for the weather - snow pants, boots, hat, mittens/gloves, extra mittens/gloves,  extra socks, shoes so students can change out of their boots, and extra pants in case pants get wet outside on the playground! Thank you for your help!


Homework/Reading Calendars: Please remember that the homework/reading calendar is recommended, not required, and is to help make school-home connections.


Chromebooks: Students have been using and learning how to use their chrome book a few times in class and during Library. We are practicing how to log in and use some of the computer programs: Lexia-Core 5 and Starfall, and will be learning more this month. Chrome books will begin to go home with your student beginning in February after we have finished learning how to log in/learn the tools, resources, and websites.

Ask My Child About: (below are some fun things to ask your child about!)

  • GrapeSEED songs: “Colors Everywhere!!”& “Hello, How Are You?”

  • GrapeSEED stories: We Love School

  • GrapeSEED poem: “My Toy Box

  • Answering questions using a sentence and counting the number of words that create the sentence. 

  • Math - 

    • Continuing to count and write the number counted

    • Continuing to create simple patterns using two colors 

    • Writing numbers 6-10

    • 10-frames - using a 10-frame to determine how many dots there are and then figure out how many more would be needed to create a group of 10.

  • Fine Motor- 

    • Using scissors and glue to make an alphabet book! 

  • SEL (Social Emotional Learning) - 

    • Miss Von Behren visited and reviewed feelings: happy and sad with the class


  • Rules/Procedures Review

    • We continued  going over rules and behavior for the classroom, school, playground, hallway, and lunchroom, along with the routines we have in class!


  • Centers

    • Which center did you play in today? 

    • What did you play with? 

    • Who did you play with?
