Tuesday 2-22 2-22-22 Day! Wednesday 2-23 Late Start Leader: Dalton - Celebrate Summer Birthday! Friday 2-25 Art Leader: Chloe	Homework/Reading Calendar -  recommended - 12 days or more for homework and 20 days or more for reading.  Please put yellow folder in backpack Please make sure an extra snack and water bottle are in backpack

Yellow Folder: Please check this folder each night, empty it, and have your child bring this folder to school everyday!  

Winter Gear: Please dress for the weather - snowpants, boots, hat, mittens/gloves, extra mittens/gloves,  extra socks, shoes so students can change out of their boots, and extra pants in case pants get wet outside on the playground! Thank you for your help!

Homework/Reading Calendars: Please remember that the homework/reading calendar is recommended, not required, and is to help make school-home connections.

Chromebooks: Please follow the guidelines that were sent home via yellow folder and in an email. Also, please return on Monday and each day fully charged. Thank you for your help!

Upcoming Events:

3-4-22 - Half Day - End of Trimester 2 - Dismissal is at 12:00 for Y5

Conferences: Young Fives will be holding conferences at the end of February/beginning of March. Here is the link to sign up: Spring Conference Schedule Link

The Y5/K Roundup is only for new families entering the district. Since your child is already enrolled in Y5, you do not need to attend roundup this year. 

Update - Guest Readers are being postponed and may be scheduled later this year when the weather gets warmer so we can hold them outside in the courtyard. Thank you for understanding!

Ask My Child About: (below are some fun things to ask your child about!)

• GrapeSEED songs, stories, poems - please have your child show you their favorite from the GrapeSEED website and have them sing, read, or repeat it to you! We will begin Unit 4 next week!! 

• GrapeSEED letter focus: c, e, n, x (letter name and sounds - we also review and go over the entire alphabet whole group and within centers!)

• Answering questions using a sentence and counting the number of words that create the sentence. 

• Handwriting - finding and writing lowercase letters around the room!!

• Math - 

• Reviewed 10-frames

• Reviewed identifying numbers 0-10

• Focusing on counting, showing, and identifying teen numbers

• Fine Motor - 

• Using scissors and glue to make letter craft for our book!

• Legos

• Unifix cubes

• SEL (Social Emotional Learning) - 

• Miss V comes into our class on Fridays. We do a quick check in on how we are feeling each morning and afternoon.
